Two-time European TT Champion Victor Campenaerts powered to the third step of the podium after a strong ride in Plouay today.

Only Campenaerts and Rémy Cavagna (2nd) were able to finish inside a minute of an unbeatable Stefan Küng. On the rolling roads of the 26.5km course, Campenaerts finished 30" behind Küng. After already taking silver at the Belgian TT Championships, it’s another promising result from the World Hour Record Holder after recovering from his crash in the Czech Cycling Tour earlier this month.

“I felt good today. I went out too fast, but overall Küng and Cavagna were stronger. I didn’t perform badly, but I wasn’t the best either. It’s no shame to finish behind these two riders, but I should have beaten them today. I was the big favourite and achieved better results in the past. A longer course would have been in my advantage as a shorter route suits Küng perfectly. I’m disappointed. On the other hand, it’s nice to achieve another podium at a championship.”
