U23-rider Cédric Beullens will join the Belgian Pro Continental Team Wanty - Gobert Cycling Team as one of their trainees!

Our 22-year-old has achieved great results in his outfit of the EFC - LR - Vulsteke U23 Cycling Team and Belgian national team, proving his 2nd place at the U23 Tour of Flanders, his 5th place at U23 Ghent - Wevelgem, and, just recently, his stage win at the Tour of Vlaams-Brabant. Cédric will line up with Wanty - Groupe Gobert for the first time at the Tour de Limousin, which takes place from August 21st until August 24th.

With Wanty - Groupe Gobert, our young talent can further develop in a professional setting until the end of this season.

Cédric Beullens and General Manager of the Team, Jean-François Bourlart, commented on the traineeship in a press release from the team:

Cédric Beullens:

"One of my goals this season was to become a trainee with a professional team in order to discover bigger races, so I'm very happy with the chance Wanty-Gobert gives me. I received a first opportunity to get an insight in a pro race in the Tour of Belgium thanks to a selection with the national team, and I will use the next few months to learn a lot. Becoming a pro rider would be a logical next step in my attempt to progress year after year. I will, within the ranks of Wanty-Gobert, give it my all to show I'm worth it!"

Jean-François Bourlart (general manager) :

"We want to continue to give confidence to young riders, like Cédric Beullens. He and our two other trainees are capable of showing themselves on different terrains. Beullens can show himself on classic profiles in several Belgian one day races, but also in some hard stage races. I'm convinced that our trainees will use this opportunity to reach a new milestone in their career and, why not, follow the example of Alfdan De Decker, who became pro in our team after a successful traineeship last autumn."
