Jelle Wallays has extended his contract with cofidis for two more years and will ride for the French WorldTour team until at least the end of 2024.
During his first year with Cofidis, Wallays (32) has proven to be of significant value and was rewarded with a spot in the team’s line-up for the Tour de France. The two-time Paris-Tours and 2015 Dwars door Vlaanderen winner is pleased to renew his contract.
“I feel good at the team. I have been riding for Cofidis since the beginning of the 2021 season and I’m loving the atmosphere, and the way the team approaches races. Obviously, I’m very happy to prolong my stay with two more years. I rode a strong classics campaign, helping Christophe Laporte to victory and winning Circuit de Wallonie with a great team spirit. My strong performance there is probably one of the main reasons I got the chance to participate in this year’s Tour de France for the very first time in my career. I love to help our leaders and give it all I have to let them shine.”
