Vital Concept - B&B Hotels has announced the signing of Jens Debusschere. The former Belgian Champion will strengthen the French ProContinental team for the next two seasons.

Debusschere will get the opportunity to take his chance during the Classic races and will take up a key role in Bryan Coquard’s lead-out train.
For the 2014 Belgian Champion and 2016 winner of Dwars door Vlaanderen, the transfer to Vital Concept - B&B Hotels is a next step in his career.

“Like most Flemish riders, I’m focused on the 6 weeks between de Omloop het Nieuwsblad and Paris-Roubaix. I’ve already recorded two top 10-places at Paris-Roubaix, but I know it will be difficult to win the Monument one day. On the other hand, winning Gent-Wevelgem is within my capabilities. I’m obsessed with this one-day classic since it’s made for me. It my very own ‘World Championship’.

“Sprinting is what I do best, which is the reason why I wanted to join Vital Concept - B&B Hotels. Bryan belongs to the top sprinters of the peloton and has shown that he’s capable at winning important races. I believe in him and, even if we would end up in the finale of Gent-Wevelgem together, I would have no problem positioning him for the sprint, in the best way possible”. In the Classic races, he’ll join compatriot Bert De Backer. Both of them will play a vital role in the team’s classics’ campaign.

General Manager of Vital Concept - B&B Hotels, Jerôme Pineau, is pleased with the signing of Debusschere: “It makes me proud to attract such a big name like Jens Debusschere. Jens know his role in the team and I’m confident he’ll deliver quickly.”
