Laurens Sweeck has won the final round of the Superprestige in Middelkerke, securing the overall victory of this season's Telenet Superprestige Series. The Belgian Champion soloed to the line, ahead of Toon Aerts and teammate Iserbyt.

For Sweeck, it meant the fourth win of the 2019-2020 CX season, after already cheering in Eeklo, the Trek Cup and the Belgian national championships. He won the general classification of the Superprestige Series with 84 points, beating Eli Iserbyt (81) and Lars van der Haar (76) to second and third respectively.

Laurens Sweeck:

"Initially, the legs didn't feel that great today, but I started to feel better as the race went on. I decided to launch an attack, hoping no one would react to the move. Thanks to Eli Iserbyt and Michael Vanthourenhout, who were in the chase group, I was able to create a gap and maintain the advantage. It's a dream coming true. I took the final race and overall win of the Superprestige!"
