Belgium’s Shari Bossuyt claimed the silver medal the Under-23 European Track Cycling Championships on Saturday after finishing second in the Points race. Bossuyt prolonged her title of Vice-European Champion as she also took silver last year.

Bossuyt collected 27 points in the race, where the riders had to tackle 100 rounds, 11 points less than winner zanardi. Bossuyt held off Yaroskenko (Ukraine) by one point. Shari Bossuyt: “It was a very hard race and an ‘assault’ on my body after not racing for so long. I’m very happy with finishing second!”

Bossuyt finished also 4th in the Madison event and 5th in the Omnium event one day later.
