After already taking silver at the U23 Points Race in August, Shari Bossuyt repeated her performance and confirmed her talent at the Elite Track European Championships in Grenchen. It’s Bossuyt’s first medal in the elite category. The 21-year-old raced in 5th place until she was able to seize bonus points in the last 20 (of 100) rounds.

Shari Bossuyt:

“I’m happy with this second place, it’s my first medal in the elite category. Yet, I’m a little disappointed as well since I finish so close to gold for the second time in a row. It was a bit of a strange race: we were with 4 top riders in front all the time, but there was a lot of rivalry between France and Italy, which made it difficult to work together.”

“My first elite medal motivates me. Especially since yesterday’s omnium wasn’t that good. I’m already looking forward to tomorrow’s team race, but the main goal here is to gain experience for the future. We have nothing to lose.”
