Sweeck showed determination to win the GP Pelt for the 4th consecutive time. After already cheering in 2016, 2017 and 2018, the rider of Pauwels Sauzen - Bingoal highlighted the impressive hattrick by soloing to his 4th victory at the GP Pelt today - his third win of the season.

Rain and mud marked the first round of the Rectavit Series this afternoon, which made up the perfect cyclocross conditions. Two laps into the 8-lap race and a 7-rider move, including Laurens Sweeck and Thijs Aerts, had established a gap.

With 4 laps to go, Sweeck had to take up the chase of Hermans as the Telenet Baloise Lion had distanced himself from the front group. Gradually, Sweeck reduced Hermans’ advantage to eventually close the gap entirely with less than two laps from the finish. Sweeck did not settle, stayed on the gas and left Hermans behind. When entering the final lap, Sweeck led by 5 seconds and could extend his lead with 10". This way, our rider secured his fourth win at GP Pelt.

After already winning the first round of the Ethias Cross and the Trek CX Cup in September, it's Sweeck's third victory of the season.
