Only two days after his Superprestige victory in Niel, Laurens Sweeck won the World Cup GP Beekse Bergen.

Laurens Sweeck took the win in a final sprint, beating Lars Van der Haar and Michael Vanthourenhout. On a fast course of the brand new World Cup in the Beekse Bergen, the rider of Crelan-Fristads showed his great shape once again.

Laurens Sweeck:

“I think I’ve had a perfect week. I didn’t expect this at all. It may sound strange, but I’ve been ill and I dind’t feel a 100%. I suppose that my shape was good enough to overcome the bad feeling.”

“I felt a bit worse than I did Friday, but the race went well. I lost some time due to mechanics, but the winner is right so I think it turned out well. (…) I started my sprint early on, but we came out the last bend on a high speed and it was hard to stay in the wheel. It looked like Michael (Vanthourenhout) immediately started sprinting, but it was only an acceleration and didn’t go all out. It was my cue to go full gas.”
