Laurens Sweeck was on top of his game at the Ethias Cross in Maldegem and dominated the ‘Parkcross’ from start till finish.

Sweeck took off in the first lap and set a strong pace throughout the rest of the race. In the penultimate lap, he kicked it up another gear and was able to drop Vanthourenhout after his teammate slipped, clearing the way for a solo victory. For Sweeck it’s his 4th win of the season, after his victories in Ardooie, Hamme & Leuven.

Laurens Sweeck:

“Everything was going well as soon I started the 2nd lap. I created a gap, but it was difficult to keep the gap with the strong winds. It was a battle, so I was happy that Michael (Vanthourenhout; red.) was able to jump on. I didn’t see Michael crashing. It was a fast bend and I already was going full gas as Lars (Van der Haar; red.) was getting closer. I’m happy that I could finish it off.”
