European CX Champion Michael Vanthourenhout has prolonged his contract with Pauwels Sauzen – Bingoal for another three years, signing a deal until 2025.
Michael Vanthourenhout (28) keeps growing and adding strong results to his palmares. With his European win in Namur and Classic victory in Overijse this seaon, Vanthourenhout recorded two of his biggest wins in his career. Vanthourenhout has been part of Pauwels Sauzen - Bingoal since he turned pro in 2014, and will keep representing the team until at least the end of 2025.
“I feel good at the team. Mario De Clercq (technical manager) and Robby Cobbaert (team manager) are really important to me. Our training sessions on Wednesday – in my home town – are the most important days of the week. The role I play in this team suits me as well: next to Eli Iserbyt, I can race without pressure. If one of us is feeling a bit less, the other is there to save the day. It’s a win-win.”
“The season has been great so far, but I think I still can grow in the upcoming races. It’s in my nature to still improve on this age as well. I want to keep racing even after 2025, but I hope to conclude my career at the same team, just like Kevin Pauwels and Klaas Vantornout did.”
